Course Description
This course is designed to introduce to students fundamental skills for simultaneous interpretation through hands-on practice with different topics, and end with a few sessions of mock conference. In between, emphasis is placed on presentation, active listening, segmentation, linear translation, identification of main messages, and so on. Students will hone these skills through class practice/discussions, and are expected to expand vocabulary, improve register and engage in self-motivated practice sessions outside the class.
